Brain Development in Teens and Sleep
Posted By Avatar
There has been new findings by sleep researchers that teenagers of today are getting les and less sleep than they should otherwise be getting. An average teen should be getting between 7 to 8.5 hours of sleep especially during the development phase of the brain which is said to end at the age of 21. Modern conveniences such as CD players, day-round movie channels, college study, peer pressure and the likes are inevitably lessening the amount of sleep they get thus affecting the brain and it’s development. This can give rise to serious health risks and brain dysfunction in adult life the effects of which are still under study to this day.
