Just what is Sleep?

Sleep is a phase in our daily routine when the body re-generates and replenishes energy levels. Many think that a sleepless night can be augmented by short naps during the day is enough but researchers have found that sleep during the night or normal sleeping times is the best time for one to rest and sleep. Sleep also allows the brain to re-shuffle itself, clearing way clutter and restoring it into an invigorated state ready for another days stress, problems and allows better faster healing from illness.
Many think that sleep is a period of inactivity for the human body but contrary to that, it is a period when physical activity is merely diminished. The function of the body still remains and there is intense activity in the brain and vital organs where waste products are removed and replenished with fresh supplies of vitamins, minerals and all the other substances vital for proper metabolism.
