Posted By Allan

childmigraineChildren who are suffering migraines at their young age are prone to sleep disorders as shown by new research for it has the ability to affect the child’s sleep patterns. Children were put to sleep in poly sonograms which clearly showed a great disruption in their brain activity during migraine attacks interrupting REM sleep. the study also shows greater incidence of sleep apnea which has the upper breathing pathways blocked causing the subject to wake. The trauma of sleep apnea often prevents the kids form getting back to sleep and eventually develop the habit of not getting enough sleep due to fear. Children with migraines that are compounded by sleep disorders will degrade a child’s ability to perform normal tasks in school and in the home so parents are advised to seek treatment at the earliest possible signs of either disorders to prevent health issues form getting compounded.
