Just how much sleep do you need?
This is known to all, that a good night’s sleep makes one feel invigorated ready to face the challenges of the new day. But just how much sleep is enough, and the experts say that there is no known basis for the determination of the amount of sleep an individual needs during the night or day. Infants may sleep as much as 16 hours a day only waking between feedings. As they grow older, they sleep from 10 to 12 hours depending on physical activity. Adult are generally known to sleep for about 7 to eight hours. But they are grouped into two; the normal which go for the 7 to 8 hour sleep cycles and the long sleepers who go for more than 10 hours of sleep. The elderly may sleep only for about 5 hours during the night but take several naps during the day.
