New Insights into Sleep
Posted By Allan
Do you know that we humans go through a sleep phase known as micro-sleep? This is seldom recognized but can be attributed as the main cause of forgetfulness. Micro sleep is sleep that is so short(actually very, very short for it is measured in milliseconds) when the brain shuts down for that short a period of time and then re-starts resuming what it was doing before the event. This phenomenon has only recently discovered and is still undergoing further testing. This can be compared to a reboot of your computer which re-sets all of the information that has been processed giving it a fresh new slate. Only in the case of humans, we do not forget what we were doing and just get back to doing whatever it was.
